An unexpected winter wonderland...

For snow deep enough to build snowman and go sledging in, for crisp starry nights and silence, for an excuse to embrace thermals and crunch the snow beneath your feet, for saunas, for lodge cabins and frozen over lakes thick enough to walk on, for history and for celebrating new years in a hot tub, if any of those activities excite you then stick Finland on your travel bucket list.

Nordic countries are known for being expensive but please  don't let that put you off from visiting. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and Finland did not disappoint. We found the roads well prepped for the snow, super polite people everywhere and natural beauty and history all around.
